Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant is pleased to announce our next solo exhibit – Rising Up, featuring artist Tibor Nyilasi. The exhibit features a retrospective of the artist’s life work. Upon arriving in Canada in 1957 as a Hungarian political refugee, Nyilasi went on to graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1964 with the Government of France Medal for proficiency in drawing and painting. Since then, he has established himself as a teacher of art, a muralist, mosaic artist and accomplished painter in watercolour, oil, and mixed media. Nyilasi’s professional career includes solo and group exhibitions that have travelled the globe. One of his many career accomplishments include representations in the Royal Collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle Library.
He has a long history with Brantford and with Glenhyrst Art Gallery. Glenhyrst hosted his very first exhibit and he was one of Glenhyrst’s first exhibiting artists in 1963.
The Exhibit will be on display at Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, 20 Ava Rd. Brantford, Ontario until from Saturday, January 10th to Sunday March 8th 2015.
