Call for Submissions:
Biennial Juried Exhibition 2025
Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 30th at 5:00pm
Exhibition Dates: September 6th – November 7th, 2025
Glenhyrst Art Gallery invites emerging and established artists living and working in Ontario to apply to its Biennial Juried Exhibition.
Submissions must include a complete application form, available at glenhyrst.ca from June 17th – July 30th, 2025. Please follow the online instructions for application requirements and payment instructions.

o Online entries open: Tuesday, June 17th at 11:00am
o Deadline for entries: Wednesday, July 30th at 5:00pm.
o Selected artists will be notified: August 14th - 15th.
o Selected artwork must be delivered between: Saturday, August 16th and Saturday, August 30th, within operating hours (Tuesday to Friday, 10am – 5pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 11am – 4pm).
o Artwork must be collected between Saturday, November 8th and Sunday, November 9th, between 11am and 4pm.
o Opening Reception and Awards Presentation at Glenhyrst Art Gallery: TBD

Open to Ontario artists 18 years of age and older working in any medium.
$40 entry fee. This non-refundable payment must be made by credit card through the online registration form.
Maximum of two works per artist. All artwork must be submitted through the online registration form. Email entries will not be accepted. Please see the submission requirements below.
Glenhyrst Art Gallery reserves the right to refuse any artworks due to questions of copyright, ownership, safety, and/or authorship.
All works must have been completed within the last 18 months, are wholly original, and have been created by the submitting artist.
The jury’s decision is final. No substitutions – only work that has been submitted and accepted by the jurors will be included in the exhibition. No entry may be withdrawn after the exhibition has been installed.
Submissions must be ready-to-hang with d-rings and wire (if applicable). Paint must be fully dried. New media works must be accompanied with AV equipment and instructions provided by the artist.
All accepted artworks will be insured while on the premises until the last specified pick-up date.
Accepted artists will receive a stipend of $50 for each work exhibited as per the Canadian Copyright Act.
Works sold are subject to 30% commission to Glenhyrst Art Gallery.
By entering the exhibition, artists grant Glenhyrst Art Gallery the right to use images of their artwork for the website, publicity, advertising, educational reference, and social media.
Registration forms must be submitted online by July 30, 2025 at 5pm to be considered for jurying. No late entries will be accepted. No email entries will be accepted.
Shipping and Insurance:
All shipping arrangements and insurance to/from Glenhyrst Art Gallery is the responsibility of the artist. The gallery will not accept collect shipments. Artwork selected for the Biennial Juried Exhibition will be insured by Glenhyrst for the duration of the exhibition.

• Each entry must include the title of the artwork, year completed, medium (please be as specific as possible), dimensions (height x width x depth) and value of the artwork (for insurance purposes).
• Images should be well lit, clear, and as high quality as possible.
• Files must be labelled: “Artist’s Last Name_Title of Work” (e.g. Martin_MyArtwork).
• Images may be submitted as JPG or JPEG files only. PDF files will not be accepted.
• 2-Dimensional submissions: send only one jpeg image of the entire artwork as per the online specifications.
Maximum size of actual artwork: 132cm wide x 244cm high (approx. 4ft wide x 8ft high)
Diptychs and triptychs must fit within these dimensions
• 3-Dimensional/sculptural works: send two jpeg images (two different views).
• Film, Video, and New Media: submissions must be accompanied by clear exhibition specifications.
• Files must be no larger than 2MB. A minimum width and/or height of 1000 pixels is recommended, with a resolution of 72 to 300 dpi.
