Our commitment to Environmental Sustainability

Held on the historical grounds of the Glenhyrst Gardens, which lies on the ecologically vital Grand River Watershed, the Grand River Arts Festival strives to minimize its ecological footprint through various initiatives and partnerships, ensuring a vibrant celebration that respects and preserves our environment for future generations.

  • The Green Team is a dedicated group on a mission to divert waste at festivals & events in Brantford. We welcome them once again to the festival, and thank them for the incredible work they do to make our festival green by diverting waste appropriately.

  • New this year, there will be a water truck on site providing free water filling on Saturday to help our festival goers stay hydrated all day.

  • In an effort to reduce plastic waste, each attendee at the Opening Night event on Friday will receive a custom GRAF drink ware glass that can be used at the licensed bar.

  • To reduce our reliance on printed and other paper materials, we utilize digital and reusable formats for the festival as much as possible, such as digital programmes, reusable signage, and online-only ticket registration.

  • To reduce the amount of traffic on site, a free shuttle is available to transport festival goers between the park and nearby parking.

  • To support responsible planning, the festival reuses much of its decor each year to reduce cost and waste.
