Glen Howarth
Victoria artist, Glenn Howarth, was a member of the Royal Academy of Arts. A revered teacher who taught at universities across the country, Glenn represented Canada at the XIII Sao Paulo Biennale in Brazil in 1983. In 1988 he founded the Victoria Drawing Academy. His figurative drawings and paintings are in the Canada Council National Collection and in the permanent holdings of the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria as well as individual and corporate collections across Canada. For eight years, he was a featured artist at the annual Painters at Painter’s Lodge in Campbell River and participated at the Moss Street Paint In in Victoria. From his personal studios in Vancouver, Fan Tan Alley, Brentwood Bay and Curteis Point, Glenn taught and mentored many students who he truly loved and respected.
