Tap your toes or get up and dance to cha cha cha, bossa nova, Latin funk and jazz standards Latin style. 

The RCM Latin Jazz Ensemble have performed at many venues including South Coast Jazz, Burning Kiln Winery, The Royal Conservatory of Toronto, The Toronto Canoe and Sailing Club, Red Fox Farm and The Coach House. 

Bandleader and pianist Ruben Vazquez graduated from the prestigious Conservatory "Amadeo Roldan" in Havana, Cuba and became Choir Conductor and Professor there. Since his arrival in Canada in 1995 he has earned a Bachelor of Music at Humber College, ARCT in piano performance at the Royal Conservatory, a Masters and a PhD at York University. 

Ruben is an in-demand pianist and bandleader on the Toronto scene. He has played with many top musicians in the Latin, Jazz and Classical genres - Jane Bunnett, Louis Mario Ochoa, Alexis Baro, Marta Elena, Boriqueña and The Three Tenors among others. He has toured Europe, South America, and the United States. Ruben performed at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2004, at the Canadian Genie Awards and at the 2024 Scotiabank Giller Prize. He is currently on faculty at the Oscar Peterson School of Music and Humber College.
